  • KEYWORD SELECTION

I selected three keywords—“pet,” “care,” and “materials”—and combined them in pairs to explore common points and align them with my personal interests.

  • MY STORY

I decided to focus on designing for dogs with epilepsy, particularly those similar to my own dog, who suffers from this condition.

  • EPILEPSY SYMPTOMS & PRONE BREEDS

I began systematically researching the symptoms of pet epilepsy and identifying dog breeds that are more prone to the condition.

  • EXPLORING RESEARCH ON EPILEPSY CARE

I looked into existing studies and resources on how to care for dogs with epilepsy in hopes of developing a design that could genuinely assist in medical aspects.

  • ANALYZING PROTECTION DESIGN CASES

I analyzed design cases for child protection, drawing inspiration from the similarities in body size between pets and children.

  • IREADING BOOKS ON PHYSICAL RELIEF

I read books on physical methods of relieving pet epilepsy, aiming to find applicable design insights for my product.

  • GATHERING LATEST EPILEPSY INFORMATION

I joined pet epilepsy forums and volunteered at PDSA to gather up-to-date research and data on the condition.

  • FOCUSING ON PET OWNER

Through interviews and reviews, I discovered that most dog owners have some knowledge of epilepsy but struggle to react appropriately when a seizure occurs. This insight shifted my focus to alleviating the owners’ anxiety, ensuring their pets get the right help during a seizure.

  • What can we do for our Epileptic Dog

    Not just watching them twitch.
